El trabajo de los dos últimos años representa un gran esfuerzo institucional en la búsqueda de varios propósitos que desde el inicio de mi administración creí fundamentales, entre otros, un trabajo planificado que permitiera el uso eficiente de los recursos económicos de la entidad y la organización de los procesos gerenciales y administrativos, la consolidación de un equipo de trabajo que tanto desde lo administrativo como lo técnico posibilitara revertir el imaginario colectivo que tenía la sociedad sobre la institución y el avance en aspectos misionales que desde la investigación ayudara a construir conocimiento sobre la región. En consonancia con lo anterior venimos trabajando en el marco de un plan estratégico cuidadosamente construido con la participación de diversos actores de la sociedad interesados en la región, con la revisión de las políticas que en materia ambiental y de recursos naturales tiene el país, con el análisis de las agendas de investigación de la región y con la coordinación de entidades especializadas que han visualizado, en compañía de todos los institutos de investigación, lo que ha de ocurrir en Colombia en esa materia durante los próximos 10 años.

The work of the last two years represents a great institutional effort in the search for several purposes that from the beginning of my administration I believed fundamental, among others, a planned work that would allow the efficient use of the entity's economic resources and the organization of the managerial and administrative processes, the consolidation of a work team that both from the administrative and technical aspects would make it possible to revert the collective imaginary that society had about the institution and the progress in mission aspects that from research would help to build knowledge about the region.

In consonance with the above, we have been working within the framework of a strategic plan carefully constructed with the participation of diverse actors of society interested in the region, with the review of the country's environmental and natural resources policies, with the analysis of the region's research agendas and with the coordination of specialized entities that have visualized, together with all the research institutes, what will happen in Colombia in this matter during the next 10 years.
